This low-cost modular process control system and data acquisition node is ideal for process monitoring, or large distributed-array laboratory measurements. With on-board environmental monitoring sensors and optional board-mounted pressure transducers, these networked modules offer a simple, plug-and-play solution for any distributed sensing need.

Featuring two 16-bit analogue input channels, two user-configurable 16-bit analogue output channels and digital I/O ports, and robust RS-485 networking of up to 255 modules, this system may even be used as a stand-alone control system.

Capabilities and performance

This unit is intended to be used as a distributed network of independent nodes, each carrying out some measurement and data processing using its on-board 16 MHz CPU, and communicating over a robust RS-485 network.

Bandwidths of up to 150 Hz are possible, and the on-board sensors feature user-configurable calibration adjustments for multi-unit homogenization.
