Surrey Sensors Ltd. is very pleased to announce that its newly-developed ‘Cobra’ fast-response multihole probe is now available. The new FD7HP-series probes offer the same best-in-class measurement technology as the standard SSL multihole probe products, but now incorporates the latest advancements to deliver maximum response bandwidth.
“This product was years in the making,” explains Dr. David Birch, Director of Research at Surrey Sensors Ltd., one of the world’s leading experts in fluid measurement. “We had to go right back to the basics to design the spectral filters needed to maximize the bandwidth of these probes. We’ve developed a new technique specifically for the high-sensitivity sensors used in our probes.” Surrey Sensors Ltd. probes are based around a custom sensing ASIC for ultra-low-range pressure measurements.
“Like all our probes, this system includes all the sensing, A/D and communications hardware on-board, can operate entirely over USB, and can be easily synchronized for rake applications. With seven holes rather than the more conventional five, this probe also provides much lower angular uncertainty.”
“This is an exciting time for us,” commented Joe Braitch, Managing Director. “We take great pride in the quality and integrity of our products, and are pleased to add a probe for pressure-based turbulence measurement to our portfolio.”
The FD7HP-series “Cobra” probes are now available in standard full-scale ranges of 160 Pa (~16 m/s), 1 kPa (~40 m/s) and 6.9 kPa (~100 m/s). For additional details or pricing, please request a quotation.
